18 Apr 2015 09:30 : Balint Workshop
BALINT IN DUBLIN 2015
At Group Analytic Practice
9:30 am- 4:30 pm, Saturday, 18th April 2015
Are you a health professional working with individual clients or patients? Are you interested in thinking about the dynamics of the relationship?
This one day workshop at Group Analytic Practice will be of interest to many, for example, general practitioners, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, counsellors, teachers, and mental health professionals, with or without experience of Balint work.
Balint groups provide a framework for reflecting on your practice. Michael Balint described the clinician as the most potent drug. This work aims to increase therapeutic effectiveness and develop self-awareness; it can also be used very effectively in teaching and training.
Enjoy a day in the centre of Dublin, where you can share and explore your feelings about your patients or clients in the safety of a small confidential group. The day will include workshops where you will have an opportunity to observe or even lead a Balint group, if you have prior experience of participating in Balint groups. It is useful if participants come prepared to think about their relationship with a particular client.
A certificate of attendance and CPD points will be provided at the conference end.
Registration will be at 9:30 on Saturday morning. Numbers are limited so booking is essential. The closing date for the registration is April 10th. The cost for the day is €60, which includes tea and coffee.
