Child Protection Training
As part of its commitment to maintaining professional standards for child and adolescent therapy in Ireland, IFCAPP is offering a day’s child protection training for those working therapeutically with children and young people. This training will provide you with a basic knowledge of Children First Guidelines (2011), you will learn how to recognise child protection and welfare concerns, how to respond appropriately to those concerns and, finally, you will understand the importance of child protection policies, procedures and practices to your psychotherapeutic practice. This workshop is suited to therapists working in private practice, or in a private capacity for organisations. It is also an opportunity to upskill if it is some years since you have had child protection training. You will receive a certificate of attendance.

Sarah Houston has many years’ experience working as a senior social worker in CAMHS and as a systemic psychotherapist. She has liaised with child protection social workers on issues related to current child abuse and neglect, as well as retrospective disclosures.
