Positive Psychology is a study of optimum human functioning and methods of applying individual strengths in order to reduce the symptoms of mental health disorders. Psychologists and therapists have plenty of information about what is wrong with people (illness, impairment, weaknesses, addictions, etc.). However, there is comparatively very little research around what is right with us. Positive Psychology attempts to remedy this imbalance. Both positive and negative sides are necessary to understand, in order to see the whole person.
