This professional part-time training in Supervision is held over Seven 2-day weekends – Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
This course is designed for Health Care or related Professionals, for example:
Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Social Workers, Childcare and Community Workers, Nurses, Doctors, Psychiatrists, Pastoral Carers, Educators, Mediators, etc.

COURSE CONTENT
Theory
Our integrative approach is embedded within a Humanistic framework and informed by the transpersonal approach of Psychosynthesis and the developmental insights of a Psychodynamic orientation.
OUTLINE OF THE COURSE
Module 1: Historical overview of Models of Supervision in the helping Professions.
Module 2: The Supervisory Relationship: Co-creating a learning environment.
Module 3: Contracting, session content, completion and feedback in Supervision.
Module 4: Ethical practice in Supervision.
Module 5: Providing and receiving Supervision in the Organisational context. Developing reflective practice in supervision.
Module 6: Contextual factors and issues of difference
Module 7: Practicum – LET’S PRACTICE!
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this Diploma programme and following a period of personal study, participants will develop the ability to:
- Engage in an effective supervisory relationship
- Establish clear contracting in supervision
- Use different models of supervision in reflecting on their supervisory skills
- Apply reflexivity in supervision
- Reflect on ethical decision-making in supervision
- Identify ruptures in the supervisory process and deal with these effectively.
