HOW IT IS:
On the humanistic practice of psychoanalytic psychotherapy
This series of clinical workshops is conceived as a study group, a unique and bespoke professional development opportunity for certified therapists of all ICP orientations to deepen their clinical practice. The workshops will explore what it is to be a psychotherapist, reflecting the continuing orientation of Humanism within contemporary psychoanalytic psychotherapy, and will directly address the daily work of clinical practitioners.
The series will convene over five 2.5 hour Saturday morning sessions. Each session will feature a theoretical paper, drawn from the top 10 contemporary publications available on the PEP website (to be circulated in advance). This will be followed by a discussion of clinical applications of the core ideas of the paper, taking working examples/narratives from the field of literature.
