Inside Out 2020 Summer Edition – Deadline Approaching

Inside Out Deadline Approaching…

Dear Advertisers and Writers,

Just a reminder that we are now accepting article submissions and adverts for the Summer 2020 edition of Inside Out. The final day for submission is May 1st, 2020.

Please send your article, review, Conversation or creative writing as an email attachment to insideoutjournal@nulliahip.org. We’ll be happy to discuss your work with you if you need help getting started, and our submissions guidelines are on the front inside cover of each issue.

Advertisers, please submit your advert as an email attachment in either Word or PDF format to the IAHIP office at rachel@nulliahip.org. Payment can be arranged directly with the office or online at https://iahip.org/product/full-page-display-ad-in-inside-out.

Unfortunately, we can’t print ads until payment has been received.

The advertising options are Half-Page (14 x 10cm) and Full-Page (14 x 20.5cm), costing €115 and €230 respectively. All ads are in full colour.

Please make sure that your advert’s information is not out of date when considering the time of publishing. The Summer edition will be due into readers’ letterboxes by the end of June 2020.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for advertising with us – we are delighted to help you reach a wide audience of Irish psychotherapists and we very much value your custom.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Diane McDonald

Note from Chair – On Behalf of Governing Body

Dear Members

We are aware that many of you may be feeling anxious and isolated as the reality of Covid-19 touches all our lives. Many, if not all, have had to make the decision to discontinue face to face therapy sessions in order to protect the safety of your clients, yourselves and the wider community. You may well be at home, self-isolating and keeping the required ‘social distance’.

Telephone/Online Therapy

The use of video and phone sessions for client work has been sanctioned for accredited and pre-accredited members, however text sessions have not.

Some of your clients may have opted for telephone/online sessions. For those of us unfamiliar with online therapy, offering such sessions can be a bit daunting. It is far from ideal, but it may be the only way to offer support to our clients at this time. It will be a learning and an adventure for them and for us, and given our capacity for creativity and adaptation, it need not be too terrifying.

Please see the link below for a 9-hour online introductory training for online therapy which may be helpful in the current situation: https://www.kateanthony.net/shortcoursementalhealth/

Making Connections

We would encourage you all as individuals to reach out to your colleagues in IAHIP to offer and receive support. Make contact by phone, email, WhatsApp etc. so that you don’t feel so isolated, especially if you are ‘home alone’!

Members Forum

We will soon have a members’ forum on the website which will enable people to talk to each other, exchange ideas, share how you are managing and receive support.

However, this is still 6-8 weeks away from being up and running.

In the meantime, we recommend that members utilize the IAHIP Members Network Page on Linkedin where people can communicate with one another and support each other by sharing/getting guidance on work …read more
